My New Reads: Thank you family for my Half-Price Books Gift Cards!!!

Am into reading the first book in this collection and am delighting at things such as her "joy room" - a room set aside with things that make her laugh...she actually scouts out greeting cards and the like to find stuff that makes her laugh...she has been through hell on earth, but her trust in Christ and his overcoming power is contagious...I plan to use one of my living areas and call it "THE LAUGHING SALOON" as I scout out things that will make our family roll in jolliness...here are the things I have learned about laughing: 1) it is internal jogging having a healthy effect on most of the major systems in the body 2) laughing 100 times a day has the same effect on the body as 10 minutes on a rowing machine 3) it keeps stress under control 4) it heals a broken mind...And here are things she shares about singing 1) experts say that life expectancy is longer when a song is in your heart 2) breathing is freer in singers supporting the heart 3) anxiety and tension can be sung away as you get rid of negative energy, take your mind off of troubles and release physical tensions

"A woman living a modern life. A Bible full of ancient truths. Join critically acclaimed author Margaret Feinberg as she invites readers on the spiritual adventure of a lifetime. In her quest to better understand what God wants to communicate through the Bible, Feinberg explores the symbols and metaphors within the stories. To discover these deeper meanings, she spends time with a shepherdess in Oregon, walks the fields with a farmer in Nebraska, explore a vineyard of California, and talks with a veteran beekeeper in Colorado. Along the way, she gains deeper insight about how scripture applies to life today and discovers answers to puzzling questions. Do sheep really know their shepherd's voice? How often does a grapevine need to be pruned? What does it mean for a land to be described as overflowing with honey?" taken from Margaret's site
